A bit about me
Faye’s Sitters is run by me, Alys Gallagher, local Marlow mum to three young children, including my eldest daughter called Faye (who LOVES that this is named after her).
The desire to create this business was born out of the direct need for babysitters and pure desperation for a service which would make date nights possible without military style planning involving family travelling an hour down the M4.
I have been a stay at home mum for seven years and like every parent, my babies are my world, which meant that I was not willing to leave them with just anyone though. They had to be someone I respected and could trust.
Prior to having children, I was also a secondary school teacher for many years and I loved working with young people. I saw first hand how sometimes they were underestimated or tarnished with a bad brush just because they were young but in actual fact, most young people want to work hard, want to be independent and have big plans for themselves.
So Faye’s Sitters feels like a great solution for all. I am so passionate about helping families get back some semblance of a social life post children and also helping our local young people gain real employment experience and financial independence to make planning their future a reality.
I truly believe there is magic in the Marlow community and love the idea of our young adults looking after our little ones. And I also love the idea of us oldies supporting the young adults as they embark on their working journey.
If you are a parent looking for a sitter, a young adult looking to become a sitter or even a parent of a young adult hoping to become a sitter then do get in touch with any questions you may have and we can have a chat.
